Precious Pink . . .

Hooray!!! I managed to get a lot of sewing done this week!  Big thanks to baby Hannah for this accomplishment!

Firstly ... I made my first ever peasant top.  I'm quite happy with it, apart from one minor hiccup that I blogged about on my Things I Learnt Thursday #2 post this week.  I won't go through the whole embarrassing mix up again, just click the link if you want to know.
There's also a link in the above mentioned link (too many links??? lol) to the great tutorial for this top.

So now Hannah has another cute outfit consisting of top, bottoms & cute headband.  I made the headband from a pair of stockings that Hannah never stayed small enough to actually wear!  Credits for the headband go out to Little Birdie Secrets for their terrific Easy Stretchy Baby Headband Tutorial & Craft Snob for a super easy fabric flower tutorial.

Secondly...... yesterday, I whipped up a peasant dress!  They are so nice and easy.... I LOVE nice and easy!!!

I used the same pattern as the peasant top above, but simply added some extra length... and remembered to add casing for the sleeves.  My plan is to make a matching nappy cover and headband and possibly even a broach.  If anyone knows of a good broach tutorial, I'd be ever grateful!!
:)

I'm slowly finding more and more great Australian bloggers out there and I'm thrilled to be finding heaps more Aussie sewing blogs.  Do you have any other suggestions?  I'd love to hear them :)

I'll be linking up at all the fantastic linky parties listed here or you can click on my linky party tab at the top of the page.

  3. Hi Cass, Hannah looks totally gorgeous in her little outfit with the matching headband. But I have to say that I really LOVE that little dress. It is such a classic design and the fabric is perfect.

  4. Hannah is so cute in her cute outfit. You did a great job on both outfits. I especially love those lace trimmed bloomers.

  8. Thanks Jennifer :)
Not including breaks for feeds and nappy changes, the dress took about 40mins. A really nice simple item!
Hopefully you check back to get this message... I couldn't reply directly to you via email :(

  9. I've never sewn a peasant dress before, though I've been thinking of making one for my daughter, it doesn't look too hard to sew right? Great job your dresses, they are beautiful.

  15. The peasant top, with matching bloomers and headband looks adorable, despite the fact that you scanned and missed the fine details in the pattern. Good going on the dress. Looks like it would be an easy dress to get on and off, as well as lovely and cool for Summer.
